Disqualification Petition Of BRS MLAs, Hearing Postponed In Supreme Court [10.2.2025]

The hearing on the disqualification petition of BRS MLAs has been postponed in the Supreme Court.

It is known that BRS Working president KTR has filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court alleging that the Telangana Speaker is delaying taking a decision on the disqualification petition filed against seven MLA.

KTR has named the Telangana Speaker and MLAs P.Srinivas Reddy, Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, Kale Yadayya, T.Prakash Goud, Arekapudi Gandhi, Gudem mahipal Reddy and M.Sanjay Kumar as respondents in his petition. The bench of Justice Gavai took up the hearing on this petition today.

Senior Advocate Mukul Rohatgi argued on behalf of the Assembly Secretary, Rohatgi requested the court to seek more time to obtain information from the Speaker. He said that he would discuss with the Spreaker and provide details.

The bench asked how much more time was needed, saying that 10 months had already passed. On the request of Mukul Rohatgi, the next hearing on the petition was adjourned to February 18.
