Bench asks High Court to decide
‘preferably’ within two weeks.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday
asked the Delhi High Court to decide the legality of Gujarat cadre IPS officer
Rakesh Asthana’s appointment as Delhi Police Commissioner “preferably” within
two weeks.
A Bench led by Chief Justice of
India (CJI) N.V. Ramana allowed NGO Centre for Public Interest Litigation
(CPIL), represented by advocate Prashant Bhushan, to intervene in the case in
the High Court.
